Cheryl Lafon graduated from Colorado State University in 1980 and had a twenty year career in both advertising and marketing in the newspaper industry. In 2004, she went to work part-time for her husband's company, which allowed her to dedicate more time to her artwork. Her artistic talent and her interest in the environment led her to illustrate a book, entitled Oscar in the Compost Pile. Cheryl has had her artwork in several Colorado Springs galleries and local juried art shows. She won first prize for her miniature of Aspens in 2017. She loves to paint colorful animals, Colorado aspens, and Pike's Peak, along with scenes from her many travels to France, where her husband is from originally.
