Bruce Elliott studied various disciplines in the 1970s and 1980s, which included Photography and Art at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas; Graphic Arts at the College of the Mainland in La Marque, Texas; and Mathematics at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. He worked at Ford Aerospace for NASA from 1975-1991, started as a photographer and ended up as a Systems Analyst redesigning software display components for the Mission Control Center for twenty-five years. Bruce retired from the hectic work life in 2016 and has been studying drawing and oil painting. Though in the early years there was some drawing and oil painting, it was never serious and he did not have time to develop his skills. Most of Bruce's work to date is self-taught through lots of textbook readings, YouTube videos, and reaching out to other artists for tips.
