Beverly Able began her painting obsession over 30 years ago by taking classes at a local art studio. She started by painting on bone china, and then painted on anything she could get her hands on: doors, windows, sidewalks, and maple burl wood. In 1998 she was diagnosed with Parkinson's and thought her painting days were over. But it turned out exactly opposite, painting has helped Beverly to control the shaking in her right arm. She is determined to persevere, and not let the disease stop her from painting. She is grateful for the creative outlet in her life and the blessings she has received through her artwork. As she puts it, she just keeps praying and painting.
